Women’s Health Hub

At the heart of our communities across Gwent, women and anyone accessing women’s health services, at any age, deserve to feel heard, understood, and supported. We want women across Gwent to feel informed, confident, and empowered to take ownership of their health.

We want everyone to have the knowledge, choice, and support they need to make decisions that reflect their health priorities, support their wellbeing, and help them thrive at every stage of life.

On this page, you’ll find information to help you live well, details of community Groups and local events near you to support your health, and guidance on how to access further support from healthcare professionals should you need it.

Newport Women’s Health Survey Report

The survey has been co-ordinated and led by the Integrated Wellbeing Network (IWN), in partnership with Newport City Council, with involvement from members of the Heritage and Health Network, community leaders and third sector organisations. It builds upon the insights gathered through a period of consultation with a wide range of communities and their experiences as women living in Newport and their ability to access support and services, specific to their needs. The survey aimed to assess the health needs, concerns and service experiences of women in Newport to inform future health initiatives and policy decisions.

This report will seek to inform our colleagues in health, local authority and wider partners regarding opportunities to shift the way in which services are delivered, to ensure health inequalities are reduced for women and girls, across the life course. The Heritage and Health Network will continue to work with diverse communities to enhance access to information and support. The overarching aim is to improve outcomes for women and girls, taking a preventative approach through enhanced place-based care provision
